The Lumineers

Sara and I went to our first concert together in Dallas on Thursday.  We went to see The Lumineers at the Verizon Theatre in Grand Prairie with a couple friends.  They put on a much better show than I was expecting considering they only have one album out so far.  They covered a couple songs that were great (especially "This Must Be The Place" by the Talking Heads) and played some new songs that they plan to put on their next album.  All around it was an awesome show.  I would highly recommend to anyone if you have the chance.

Here are a couple videos from the show (that we did not take):

Better late than never...right???

Better late than never as I always say! Especially since I have been meaning to blog about a weekend day date for approximately...well, we won't go into how long. The point is, I am doing it now and that is all that matters! So like I was saying... Kyle and I got to enjoy some of the "spring" Dallas weather one saturday with a day date. We started off by heading to the Dallas Arboretum for the Dallas Blooms. I had a couple people tell me how awesome it was and Kyle surprised me with tickets one afternoon. Yeah, he is thoughtful like that. Apparently, the Dallas Blooms is the largest floral festival in the southwest with over 500,000 spring blossoming blooms. The weather was absolutely perfect and we spent a good amount of time exploring the arboretum. The only thing that would have made the trip better was if we had thought to bring a picnic, but we didn't...so after we left we went to grab some sandwiches and had a picnic at a park. I love a good sandwich and Kyle had heard good things about a local place called Jimmy's Food Store. We highly recommend. We grabbed some sandwiches to go, I had the prosciutto panino and Kyle had the muffaletta. So good, and to top it off they have the good kind of Fanta. The kind I found in Italy... it is different and way better. We lounged in the park for a bit, a great ending to our date! Below are some of my favorite pictures from the day. Please forgive, combination of real camera and camera phone.

There were tulips everywhere!
Hydrangeas, my favorite.

Run. March.

I had an equipment change during the month of March.  Sara bought me the Suunto watch that I have been wanting for about a year now for my birthday.

The Suunto Ambit has many more capabilities than I can make use of here in North Texas.  The watch is GPS enabled so it accurately measure distance, speed, altitude, direction, temperature, etc., etc..  It is basically a computer in a wrist watch.  Hopefully I will be able to use it up in the mountains at some point soon.  I used to carry my phone and use the MapMyRun app to measure my distance.  The watch links to a website called www.movescout.com.  I have a personal website on movescout that keeps track of all my data and analytics.
I up'd the total mileage quite a bit for the month of March...

Totals:
January: 61.66 miles
February: 76.42 miles
March: 113.26 miles
Year: 251.34
